Mount Tabor St.Thomas Monastery Chooramudy
The Syriac Orthodox Church is an Oriental Orthodox church that emerged as a branch of the Church of Antioch. Its origins trace back to the 1st century. The theological basis of the Syriac Orthodox Church is firmly rooted in the Nicene Creed. It is the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, established by our Lord Jesus Christ. The patriarch, also known as the bishop of Antioch, leads the church and upholds the apostolic succession through Saint Peter, the chief among the Apostles.
Mount Tabor St. Thomas Monastery of The E.A.E. Arch Diocese is under the spiritual guidance of H.H. Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarch of Antioch & All the East.

Mount Tabor St.Thomas Monastery
EAE Centenary Project
The Monastery has a chapel and two shrines. The Shrine near to the Chapel holds the relics of St. Gregorios Mor Geevarghese Metropolitan of Parumala (Parumala Thirumeni). Rev. Fr.Varghese Kuttipuzhayil is the current Monastery Head.
“The Intercession of St. Mary, St. Gregorious Geevarghese of Parumala and all the Holy Fathers and Saints have safeguarded my saintly life. I have been a hermit for more than 26 years and I had restricted my way of life and submitted to Our Lord. Patience and Forgiveness is one of the key aspects of a Saintly Life along with Prayer and Love.”
Very Rev. Dayroyo Yuhanon Plavilayil
